Can't days just be longer?
I have to admit, I'm less excited to go back on the road this time around. And what I lack in excitement I make up for in anxiety. Almost fear.
I feel so rushed! Last time, I had about a week with nothing to do except prepare. Not only that, but I had the weather on my side. Now, I feel like I'm heading off into some barren and harsh place with no time to get in the mindset of leaving, almost like I'm being thrown into the winter desert with nothing but a sweatshirt and a pack of Ramen noodles.

I'll give you some words of wisdom that a pothead once gave me when I was complaining about having too much to do:
You have the same number of hours in the day that Einstein did when he invented the lightbulb.
True story.
You may find that leaving for a while is better then staying. Maybe your head will clear even if you don't think it's clouded.
and... that pothead was right!
*sobs*
I don't know what to say given what I just posted..... please..... I feel like a failure enough on my own..... please, even if you feel like I am, please don't say it... at least not for now...... I'm afraid it might hurt more than usual....
I feel like such an ass....
(PS - I was really drunk when I left that last comment)
My intention wasn't to make anyone feel like a failure, my intention was to share a funny story about how a pothead freind of mine honestly believed that it was Einstein who invented the lightbulb, not Edison.
Mark, I know you weren't trying to make me feel bad! That would be crazy and make no sense! I'm just sad on my own accord, because I feel like such an idiot talking a big game about leaving and then having to re-neg for a couple months.
And that is pretty freakin' hilarious about your friend!!!
Jess... I think that it would be selfish of you to leave now, when spending time with your brother should be your top priority. The road, the people, the stories, the adventure... they will all wait for you. Cherish the time you have now with your family. Remember the old saying, "Bros before Roads", or something like that.
Yeah, good advice! I saw that embroidered on a pillow once....
